“Governmental 403(b) and 457(b) plans are different from the plans I spent most of my career working with. What amazes me most, now that I’ve seen these plans up close, is how well these plan structures serve employees. Multi-investment provider plans can, and should, continue to grow and be successful. Most simply need a governance structure to help manage the nuances of unique providers and products. This oversight will help protect the employers who oversee these plans. Vynntana delivers all of this through a governance platform, which is what gets me so excited.”

Al has seen a lot of the different plan management structures that exist in retirement plans. Al’s diverse plan management experience is helping PlanScope360 introduce Plan Governance, with the elements it takes to make a retirement plan successful. Al serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Board Certified Fiduciaries and a certified Analyst at the Center for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX). Both of these organizations help Al bring new ideas to Governmental plan management and oversight.

Al has 35 years of industry experience, regularly contributing to publications focused on retirement plan administration and legislation for various journals and professional associations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and did his graduate work at Georgia Tech.

Al Otto is an Investment Advisor Representative, offering advisory services through Verity Asset Management [Registered Investment Adviser].

Rob
McLean

“Having spent most of my career working with thousands of different multi-provider Governmental 403(b) and 457(b) Plans, it’s always seemed there must be a better way to help plan sponsors improve their plans and protect themselves. A well thought out and executed governance process is exactly what these plans need. It’s going to be the next big thing, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Prior to joining Verity, Rob was President and CEO of 403(b) and 457(b) plan administrator U.S. OMNI. Rob helped the organization grow significantly, ultimately serving thousands of public school districts across the USA. His perspectives, experiences and skills are a perfect match for Vynntana.

Rob’s responsibilities include designing Vynntana’s operational policies and procedures and working closely with the Plan Governance committees created.

Rob earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts, Political Science, from Boston College. He is actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, acting in various leadership roles.

Amy
Simonson

“Verity was founded in 1996, with a focus on helping plan participants succeed in their saving and investing efforts. We’re increasingly finding that as employees navigate all the distractions in their lives, the Plan Sponsor can play a powerful role in helping their employees cut through the clutter to prioritize saving.”

As one of Verity’s cofounders, Amy has seen extensive change in financial services. Amongst her peers, she is known as one of the most dynamic thinkers, consistently looking at things with an eye for new opportunity. The creation of Vynntana is one of the most unique and impactful opportunities of her career. It is a complete package to help multiple provider plans provide exceptional education while also implementing a best practice operational and compliance structure.

Amy graduated from Rice University in 1992 with a degree in Economics, Political Science and Managerial Studies. She holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) Designation, awarded by the Katz School of Business and the Center for Fiduciary Studies.

Amy Simonson is an Investment Advisor Representative, offering advisory services through Verity Asset Management [Registered Investment Adviser] and a Registered Representative, offering securities through Verity Investments, Inc. [Member FINRA, SIPC].

Jae
Di Lorenzo

“One of the most fascinating discoveries we’ve made is understanding the impact that storytelling and decision making biases have on how people think about money. Understanding this has helped us develop better communications for employers to use with employees.”

Jae didn’t expect she’d be using a neuroscience degree from Furman University to help teach people about money. Nevertheless, as the Director of Participant Engagement for PlanScope360, Jae is responsible for exactly that; messaging, marketing and the production of content designed to encourage participants to take control of their own financial success.

Jae is an active education advocate in her community and heads a program for financial empowerment in the black community. She holds a neuroscience degree from Furman University and a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University.

Ellen
Bailey

“My role as Financial Advisor allows me to interact with plan participants daily, which I greatly enjoy! When their employers clearly define and communicate the benefits of the available retirement plan, the enrollment process and other specific parameters; it narrows the scope of individual participant discussion, allowing us to tackle topics that are most important to them… budgeting, debt, investment advice, and so on. Which creates a more meaningful experience all around.”

As a North Carolina native and mother of two school aged children, Ellen has a deep gratitude for the teachers and administrators of our state. Her ultimate passion is to be a valuable resource to those who are shaping the next generation. When the opportunity arose for her to work with educators, she jumped right in.

Ellen is a CERTIFIED FINANCAL PLANNER™ who enjoys the process of educating others to help clients make good financial decisions for themselves. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina -Wilmington and lives in the Triangle Area.

Ellen Bailey is an Investment Advisor Representative, offering advisory services through Verity Asset Management [Registered Investment Adviser] and a Registered Representative, offering securities through Verity Investments, Inc. [Member FINRA, SIPC].
